Treatment of natural stone

Facade Covering in Natural Stone
A facade cover of natural stone plates between 5 to 10 cm thick, which is anchored to the rear structure. This type of work requires expert knowledge. It is equally important for the seams to be finished perfectly afterwards. We have mastered the art of working with bluestone, French white stone, granite and other types of natural stone.

Sculpture Work – Masonry Work
The one aspect that is vital in restoration work is to give the master pieces created by medieval artists and craftsmen a new leash on life. Erosion and air pollution have a great effect on sculptures standing in the open air and they become damaged as a result. Our master class sculptors and masons pride themselves in their ability to restore such items to their former glory. A new project is drawn up for each individual item, sculptor drawings are then made of the items before being covered in kneadable material, cast in gypsum and then finally chiselled out. These activities are performed by experts with an artistic education, whose skills have been honed inside our studios. Linear sculpturing is then left in the capable hands of well trained professionals that approach the entire project from an architectural point of view.

Natural Stone and Marble Works
The word “marble” is derived from the Greek word “mararos”, which means “to glitter”. Marble has been used for centuries to decorate elements for sculpting purposes and interior design and the results are almost always breathtaking. Crystalline limestone and dolomites, which are easy to polish, originate from Belgium, France and Italy. Pieces of marble and natural stone are prepared in the studio in Zottegem by marble workers and grinders. This process is done in our own yard.
